Pre-Veterinary Medicine Option
The veterinarian diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders of animals; determines the
nature of disease or injury and treats animals medically or surgically; performs autopsies to determine causes of death; gives advice on care and breeding of animals. Some engage
in general practice, some become involved in research and development, while others are active in such fields as consultation, teaching, technical writing, sales or promotion
of commercial products, or provide technical services for commercial firms. See also Animal Science Degree programs.
